However, the most dangerous consequence of prolonged exposure to UVA rays is the possibility of developing skin cancer.
Type B rays (UVB), in turn, penetrate the Earth's surface through the ozone layer. They have less penetrating power and exert their effect mainly on the epidermis without reaching the dermis. In small amounts, they contribute to sunburn, but when exposed to excess, they can cause erythema (reddening of the skin), sunburn, and even damage to the eyes.
When choosing a sunscreen, it is extremely important to pay attention to the label "Broad Spectrum" or "Ultraviolet protection UVA / UVB". This means that the product provides protection from both type A and type B rays. This protection from both types of ultraviolet radiation reduces the risk of skin damage, aging and cancer.
